SAN MICHELE SALENTINO: Almond fig fair

Food and wine that links tradition, culture and entertainment celebrations. The main product of the San Michele Salentino area is the Fico Mandorlato.
The almond fig is a typical dessert of the high Salento tradition, in particular that of San Michele Salentino. It is recognized by the Slow Food residuum.
It is composed of the union between figs and almonds two products of the Apulian land.
During the fair you can taste typical products all accompanied by music and popular dances such as pizzica and taranta, which transform the fair into a real party.
